Celebrating three decades of making dolls and the best is yet to come! 2010 Collection.
For my 30th anniversary I interpreted the magical autumn and winter colors and enjoyed to be able to dress my dolls in warm clothing for the first time.
White felt, reminding of a soft layer of snow inspired me to include wintertime in my new collection. Using different fabric and actually cold colors like blue, white or lilac seemed a challenge but turned out to be great fun. Letting the dolls reflect warmth and happiness in spite of these "cold colors" as well as the opportunity to dress my dolls up for winter was delightful for me.
Despite the frosty colors, the outfits look as soft as a falling snowflake. Using felt for the boots revealed a great variety of wonderful possibilities to match up the boots with the dresses through embroidery and color as well as repeating the material.
This collection has outstanding accessories for the first time. The anniversary doll "Amelie" (10,5") wears a corduroy dress embroidered with Autumn flowers. For the anniversary she got a brand new bike! And this is just one highlight of this anniversary collection. The little Balinese girl "Hatmani" ( 8 ") for example has a mobile cook shop that she pushes through the streets of Bali. "Alwi" (12 ") her big brother, offers vegetables and fish in the baskets he carries on his shoulders.
"Sena" ( 21,5") is a stunning punch line in the collection of 2010 her splendid dress will give wings to your imagination. The extraordinary fabric is handmade, embroidered and sequined. These precious fabrics are only produced in small amounts and for this reason I will only manufacture 17 of these exceptional dolls.
Temperatures in Yakutia, Siberia of - 40°C are normal during Winter time. The horse breeding nomads live in yurts and own outstandingly precious dresses. "Ayla" (21,5") and "Sakira" (12")) wear splendidly embroidered silk dresses with headbands that are decorated with bead strings. The pearl decorated and sequined front of the dress sparkles in the yurt like the frosted landscape outside.
Small editions once again make these dolls be in great demand as collectibles but they are not just to look at...
